God called Pastor R. Chris Hanks to Colorado to start a church.  In 2001, the Gospel Way Baptist Church of Grand Junction was born.  God has blessed with faithful people, different ministries, as well as giving to Faith Promise missions.

Pastor Hanks preaches other churches for revivals, youth camps, preacher’s fellowships and camp-meetings. 

In 2011, Pastor Hanks published his first book, Morning Manna, a devotional book that walks the reader through the Bible with a thought from a verse from that days’ reading.

He has written a second book entitled: Filled with the knowledge of His Will which is also available on this site.

He currently resides in Grand Junction, with his wife Alicia, and their five children.  Other than his favorite time in studying the Word of God, he also enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, driving in the mountains, and an occasional round of golf.
